Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who had last produced the successful movie Speedy Singhs, has opened his own production company in collaboration with Ashwini Yardi called Grazing Goat pictures. The production house is set to get a film under its banner.
The name of the film is ‘OMG (oh my god)’ and Akshay will also be acting in it. The story revolves around an Atheist who sustains massive losses in an earthquake. The movie is adapted from the Gujarathi play “Kanji Viruddh Kanji” which gained lot of fame for its unique storyline. It ran to packed theatres all over, especially in the United States. The play has also been adapted suitably in Hindi language as well. According to the production house, the storyline will be modified accordingly to make the film.Apart from Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal has been finalised to play an important role. The pair was noted for their exceptional comic timing in the comic hits Hera Pheri, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiyya. The shooting is expected to begin in the month of January.
Akshay owns another production house as a joint venture along with his wife Twinkle Khanna, called Hari Om Productions. The house has produced movies such as De Dana Dan, Thank You and Patiala House.
The star has a long list of films in the pipeline, set to release in 2012. His 2012 year kicks off with Housefull 2, followed by Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Khiladi 786 and Once upon a time in Mumbaai 2 where he will be essaying the role of Dawood Ibrahim. Having had a modest year with the success of Desi Boyz and the failure of Thank You and Patiala House, 2012 looks set to be the Khiladi Kumar’s year.
